From social need to social enterprises: a one-day Aalto University/IDBM workshop on social business modeling 2012.1.11.

How do you create and manage businesses that create social impact? What happens when business modelling meets design and new technological innovations? During this one-day workshop you will learn how we at Aalto University approach societal problems to create businesses that not only generate profit, but also societal impact.

The day is split into four modules, each with their own thematic focus We will focus on doing things, discussions, and team work. Lecturing is kept at minimum to maximize learning and fun!

If you’re interested in improving the well-being of others while making money, learning how to combine thinking with doing, or getting to know what Aalto University is, you are more than welcome to join us for the workshop!

Attendance: Anyone can attend, free of charge.
Please apply through the application form.  We will examine your application, and will send by email the result of the examination to all the applicants.

Preassignment:
Participants are expected to identify and document a social need (e.g. difficult for young people to find work, older people cannot prepare food by themselves back home etc.) as follows: use only pictures and videos for documentation and bring them with you to the workshop in either digital or physical format.
